Watering Instructions

1. Initial Watering

  • Water Immediately: After planting, water the tree thoroughly to help the roots settle into the soil and eliminate air pockets.

  • If you do not intend to plant your tree in the ground immediately, water daily.

2. Watering Schedule

  • First Month: Water 2-3 times per week, more often in extended dry weather periods ensuring that the root zone stays moist but not soggy.

  • Second Month Onward: Water once a week, increasing the amount in dry seasons.

3. Check for Overwatering

  • Allow the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings.

  • Check if the soil is moist just below the surface to decide whether the tree needs watering.

4. Adjusting Watering for Established Trees

  • Once established (usually after 6 months to a year), water only when necessary during dry periods, especially during the growing season.
